Which Disciplines will you audition for?

Thanks for submitting! Youll recieve a "New Auditioner Form & Packet" via email from Daryl@deforestdance.com in May.

Our auditions will take place from June 26th-July 2nd, 2024. Stay tuned for more info!

This form no longer accepts submissions. We will begin Auditions for the 2025- 2026 Season in April!

Steppin' Out Dance Company is

DeForest Dance Academy's

Award-Winning

Competitive Performance Team.

If your Recreational dancer wants to take their commitment to dance to the next level, you're in the right place! 

 

In addition to competing Regionally and Nationally, your dancer will receive training from top instructors and choreographers in the area while building individual  technical skills, working as a team with dancers their age, and make lasting memories while performing.

​

Dancers may choose to audition for Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, or all three Disciplines. Auditions are held in mid-late June, and Dancer's are carefully selected based on

skill level and age. 

​

Dancers will be notified in July with Audition Results.

​

SODC TEAM - Elmhurst: 

• TEAM classes are primarily held at DeForest Dance Academy in Elmhurst, IL 

Dancer commitment overview:​

  • 4 Regional Competitions (1 may require overnight travel) 

  • 1 National Competition (requires travel and lodging) 

  •  In-house Intensive

  • Convention attendance optional if approved 

  • More Extensive Membership Requirements than Troupe (Multiple days & hours of dance taken per week)

  • Guaranteed to participate in ONE Group dance per discipline

  • One Production number per discipline (select dancers only; at choreographer’s discretion)

  • Numerous extra group dances may be available to Team participants.

SODC TROUPE- Glen Ellyn: 

• Troupe classes are held primarily at DeForest Dance Academy in Glen Ellyn, IL 

Dancer commitment overview:​

  • Less Time and Financial Commitment than Team (minimum 1 day required for tap & hip hop, 2 days minimum for Jazz)​​

  • Guaranteed to participate in ONE Group dance per discipline. 

  • 3 Regional Competitions (No mandatory overnight Travel for competitions)

  • In-house SODC Intensive

  • Convention attendance optional if approved 

  • Extra dances and Production may be offered (select dancers only; at choreographer’s discretion)
