CLASS ATTIRE & EXPECTATIONS
Please review your class's required attire prior to your first class. Shoes, Tights, and other dance apparel are available to order at the front desk of both studios. Please leave apple watches, jewelry, headbands, toys, and other distractions at home.
Dancers age 3+ must be able to use the bathroom without any assistance.
Hair: Hair for all classes must be secured back in either a ponytail or bun. Ballet classes require hair to be in a slicked back high or low bun only.
Dress Code by Class:
Intro to Dance & Tap/Ballet Combo classes:
Attire: Any color leotard with tights or socks. Skirts and legwarmers are optional.
Hair: ponytail or bun.
Shoes: Black tap shoes (those without ribbon ties are preferred) and pink ballet shoes (those without cinch ties are preferred).
Tap/Jazz Combo classes:
Attire: Any color leotard with tights or socks. Skirts and legwarmers are optional.
Hair: Secure Ponytail or Bun.
Shoes: Black tap shoes (those without ribbon ties are preferred) and lace-up or slip-on jazz shoes (tan colored jazz shoes are preferred for recital students).
Jazz/Ballet Combo classes:
Attire: Form-fitting leotard or tank top, with dance shorts or crop leggings. Tights are optional.
Hair: Secure Ponytail or Bun.
Shoes: Pink ballet shoes & Lace-up or slip-on jazz shoes (tan colored jazz shoes are preferred for recital students).
Jazz/Hip Hop Combo classes:
Attire: Form-fitting leotard or tank top, with dance shorts or crop leggings. Tights are optional.
Hair: Secure Ponytail or Bun.
Shoes: Clean Gym shoes & Lace-up or slip-on jazz shoes (tan colored jazz shoes are preferred for recital students).
Medley classes:
Attire: Any color leotard or athletic clothing with tights or socks.
Hair: Secure Ponytail or Bun.
Shoes: Black tap shoes (those without ribbon ties are preferred) and pink ballet shoes (those without cinch ties are preferred).
Tap classes:
Attire: Comfortable athletic clothing. No jeans or denim shorts. Pants should be ankle length so tap shoes are exposed.
Hair: Secure Ponytail or Bun.
Shoes: Black tap shoes (those without ribbon ties are preferred).
All Ballet classes:
Attire: Black leotard & pink tights. No accessories or skirts. (Boys may wear a fitted white tee & black athletic shorts)
Hair: Slicked back Secured in low or high bun. NO messy buns or ponytails.
Shoes: Pink ballet shoes (Boys may wear black ballet shoes)
Jazz Classes, "Jumps, Leaps and Turns" classes, & Cheer/POMS classes :
Attire: Form-fitting leotard or tank top, with dance shorts or crop leggings. Tights are optional.
Hair: Secure Ponytail or Bun.
Shoes: Lace-up or slip-on jazz shoes (tan colored jazz shoes are preferred for recital students).
Lyrical & Contemporary classes:
See Ballet Class Attire & Hair. Dancers are allowed to wear shorts over their leotard if they wish.
Shoes: Half soles, Lyrical Dance Paws or barefoot.
Hip Hop classes:
Attire: Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing such as Tshirts/ tanks, athletic shorts, sweatpants or basketball shorts.
Hair: in ponytail.
Shoes: Clean gym shoes for dance studio use only.
Class Attendance
All Classes start on-time. Please arrive ~5 minutes early for each class to allow your dancer time to put belongings in cubbies, change, and prepare for class.
Attendance will be taken daily during each class. Dancers who are more than 10 minutes late to class may be marked late or asked to sit out by the instructor. Specific warm-up exercises are given during the first 10 minutes of class, and It is distracting to teachers & fellow class members when dancers are late.
If your dancer is going to be late or absent for any reason, please call the front desk of your corresponding studio.
